Anthony Girgis

Anthony is a multidisciplinary lighting designer working across performance, architecture, and sensory experience. Based between Amsterdam and Dubai, his practice as AGAVE Productions moves between festival stages, theatres, museums, and permanent architectural installations.

He was introduced to lighting as an operator in 2022, working with musical journalist and harpist Andrea Voets of Resonate Productions. That project became a career: over the following years he designed lighting for theatre, nightlife, food collectives, and breweries throughout the Netherlands.

Drawing on a background in the humanities and urban discourse, Anthony has since moved into architectural lighting design — joining the lighting design team at AE7 in Dubai, led by Faraz Izhar, where he focuses on bringing the emotional, theatrical quality of stage lighting into everyday public space.
